About Me

Hey! I am a journalist and an author, and I have been writing ever since I held my first pencil (that’s what my parents said!) but my tryst with newsprint began while in college. I began by writing in 1997 for Bombay Times and went on to freelance for several supplements of The Times Of India including Sunday Times and WestSide Plus as well. That’s how my journey as a journalist began, one that I continue till date.

Since then, I have worked with various prestigious publications including The Hindu, The Week, Business Standard and Deccan Herald covering features on a wide spectrum of subjects including business, education, cinema, lifestyle and parenting.

In between writing all those stories, I have always been closely involved with kids, once even as a primary teacher of yoga for 3 years while completing my MA in Economics! I am a trained voice artist too and I love narrating stories to children. Combining my passion and skills, I run a book club, Book Trotters Club, in Mumbai for children aged 3-14 years.

I love observing people and conjuring up back-stories for them, and writing humour is my forte. My first children’s book – Kittu’s Very Mad Day published by Duckbill Books in July 2017 has been received well.
